Psychiatric medication management is when a psychiatric nurse practitioner ensures your mental health medications are safe and effective. They assess your needs, prescribe medication, check how you’re doing, and adjust as needed.
How is it different from therapy?
Therapy is talking through thoughts and feelings with a mental health professional to learn coping skills.
At ReKlame, your Care Team is made up of a psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) and a Care Navigator who will guide you through the end to end journey.
Your Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner makes clinical diagnoses and prescribes medication to provide safe and effective treatment.
Your Care Navigator is like your personal healthcare guide. They’re there to make your healthcare experience as easy and stress-free as possible. They help you navigate through your journey, from scheduling appointments to connecting you with helpful resources.
Your initial consultation will take about 45 to 60 minutes. After that, your follow-ups will be shorter, around 15 to 20 minutes each. How often you need to visit will depend on what you specifically need.
At your first appointment, your provider will get to know you and your mental health and medical history. It’s a safe space – you can ask or share anything! Your treatment will be unique to you. After the visit, you’ll get a clear plan and resources for your mental health journey. We’re here to support your healing journey.
At ReKlame, our team of psychiatric nurse practitioners has got you covered. Each of us is skilled in different areas. To find the perfect fit for you, just check out our ‘Meet the Team’ page and book an appointment with the clinician who feels right for you.
Yes. ReKlame is able to help its clients who have concerns with chemical addictions (e.g. opioids, alcohol, methamphetamines). We believe in a harm reduction, integrative approach to treatment, so you can regain control of your life with consistent, holistic medical care.
After you’ve established care with us, the completion of forms such as disability, school/work accommodations, FMLA, or others may be possible. Please note, it’s up to your provider’s discretion and these forms are not completed during the first visit. We’re here to support you in every way we can!
ReKlame can diagnose and treat ADHD virtually. However, due to New Jersey regulations, for patients in New Jersey seeking ADHD treatment, we are unable to prescribe stimulant medications like Adderall or Vyvanse. However, these prescriptions can be provided if you are able to attend appointments in New York. If you prefer not to travel, you can still receive non-stimulant ADHD treatment with our providers.
